Information Technology Service Rates for Income-Generating Accounts

This policy establishes the role of Information Technology Business Operations (ITBO) in the review protocols for service rates within the Division of Information Technology (IT).
This policy complies with the policies and procedures identified in UPPS No. 03.02.04, Budget Planning and Monitoring for Income-Generating Accounts.
This policy complies with the policies and procedures outlined in UPPS No. 03.01.09, Fiscal Responsibilities of Account Managers at Texas State.
Income-Generating Accounts – accounts that are at least partially supported by sales and services generated by that account (e.g., Telecommunications Services, Learning Spaces, Computer Repair Center).
Rates – chargeback amounts to the campus for services and products provided by the department.
PROCEDURES REGARDING INCOME-GENERATING ACCOUNTS
All IT chargeback rates for services and products are reviewed annually by the appropriate account manager and ITBO during the budget development cycle.
Each income-generating account must have an appropriate business plan by fiscal year that includes forecasted income, expenses, and contingencies.
Reserves should be available for expenses for a minimum of one fiscal year.
The assistant vice president for ITBO must approve any changes to service rates.
The vice president for IT is the final approval authority for all rate adjustments.
