- The purpose of this policy is to define the procedures for administrative appointments and status changes made by the university president to The Texas State University System (TSUS) Board of Regents.
- Administrative Appointments – include administrative officers, unclassified staff, and faculty.
PROCEDURES FOR ADMINISTRATIVE APPOINTMENTS
On April 1 of each year, Human Resources will compile a list of all administrative officer appointments. This list will include the name, title, and degree of each administrative officer. Similarly, the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs (VPAA) will compile a list of all faculty appointments. Human Resources and the provost and VPAA will forward the lists to the vice president for Finance and Support Services (VPFSS). The VPFSS will consolidate the administrative officer and faculty appointment lists into board order format and submit the order to the President’s Cabinet for review and approval during the May Board of Regents meeting.
Thirty days after each scheduled quarterly board meeting, Human Resources will compile a list of any appointments, terminations, promotions, or status changes of full-time unclassified and administrative employees that have occurred since the last listing prepared for the previous quarterly board meeting. The provost and VPAA will compile a similar list for any faculty personnel actions. Human Resources and the provost and VPAA will forward the lists to the VPFSS who will consolidate the two lists into board order format and submit the order to the President’s Cabinet for review and approval at each Board of Regents meeting.
The chief university administrative officer is the president. Other university administrative officers include vice presidents and deans. A listing of all university administrative officers appears in the University Pay Plan available on the Human Resources Office website.
