  1. POLICY STATEMENT

    1. The naming opportunities in this UAPPS are intended to be used by a College or department with the assistance from the University Advancement Division. Naming standards and guidelines to develop specific naming opportunities must be followed.
  2. GUIDELINES

    1. There will be no naming of bar or beverage areas in or on any Texas State University facility or any facility organized for the sole purpose of supporting Texas State University.

    2. Specific naming opportunities are not to be discussed with a donor until consultation has occurred and approval has been attained from the Office of the Vice President for University Advancement or the University President.

  3. NAMING OPPORTUNITIES

    1. Naming opportunities with minimum funding for facilities at Texas State University are as follows:

      Naming Opportunity Minimum Funding
      New Building 51% of private support portion of the construction or renovation cost, plus 10% of costs for a maintenance endowment, or 35% - 75% of the total project cost.
      Existing Building 25% of total project replacement cost
      College $10,000,000 (minimum)
      School $5,000,000 (minimum)
      Center or Institute $2,500,000 - $5,000,000
      Program $1,000,000 (minimum)
      Large Teaching Theatre $500,000
      Small Teaching Theatre $250,000
      Large Classroom $100,000
      Medium Classroom $50,000
      Small Classroom $25,000
      Foyers $100,000
      Reception Areas $25,000
      Prominent Outdoor Areas $250,000 - $1,000,000 (depending on location and square footage)
      Fountains, ornamental buildings, landscaping and similar type projects Full cost of project and a maintenance fund
  4. PROCEDURES

    1. Once a gift commitment is received at one of the levels noted above, please contact the Assistant Vice President for Development or the Vice President for University Advancement for guidance on the specifics of discussing naming opportunities.
